To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance. — — Oscar Wilde

2020 really caught everyone off guard. Who could have thought that 3 months into the new year, people around the globe are forced to stay at home. When I just felt relieved from its containment in China, other countries begin the cycle all over again.

Seeing how cases in China grow from a handful to tens of thousands and reading lots of heartbreaking stories, I personally have been through the emotional rollercoaster earlier than people from the rest of the world. So I realize I could share my self-care strategies as someone a bit further in the emotional journey.

TL;DR:

1. Embrace your feelings

2. Create flow experiences

3. Listen, read, reflect

4. Curate a list of intentional serendipities

5. Build emotional connections

6. Engage with online communities

7. Help others

1. Embrace your feelings

Are you feeling upset, fear, confused, frustrated, and anxious? Well, congratulations, they are part of being alive, and being human! Embrace them fully, because they are hidden treasures.
