Write Productively
This article is the result of a chat with Ashwag Alasmari. She asked me how I managed to publish articles frequently. So this is a sneak peek in my writing process. Note this article is not about writing high quality pieces, because I am yet to figure that out. I just want to share how to consistently write a lot.
Why writing?
Writing is incredibly rewarding. I’ve lost count how many people have reached out to tell me that my articles are helpful. I previously jumped on calls with people to answer their questions, but after speaking to 20+ people, I quickly realize that this is not a scalable solution. So I start to write and share my articles to answer commonly asked questions, which reaches far more people.
Writing brings clarity into my mind. When I write, I closely examine my logic. I am more likely to find underlying assumptions and biases through writing than pure thinking.
Writing helps me stay focused. When my mind has a lot of running thoughts, I find it hard to concentrate on what I am working on. Once I throw these ideas into (virtual) paper, they are off my mind and I release the headspace for new ideas.
Form a habit
Write everyday
Writing is more of a marathon than a sprint. To be a good writer, one just has to keep on writing and hone the skill. So I promise myself I will write everyday.
